Ingredients
For Rava Batter
2/3 cup rava/ sooji
1/2 cup rice flour
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 tbsp curd
1 tsp salt
1 medium onion finely chopped
2-3 green chilies finely chopped
1 tsp grated ginger
2.5 cup water
For Masala
5-6 boiled potatoes
1 big onion sliced
2-3 green chilies finely chopped
2-3 red chilies in pieces
1 tea spoon grated ginger
1/2 tea spoon asafetida
1 tb spoon sarso
1-1.5 tb spoon mustard oil
Curry leaves
1 tb spoon chana dal
1 tea spoon moong dal
Salt to taste
1 tea spoon red chili powder
1 tea spoon dry mango powder
1 tea spoon coriander powder
Procedure
For Rava Batter
Take a mixing bowl
Add all the ingredients and mix well
Whisk well, no lumps should be there.
Keep it side for 15-20 mins.
For Masala
Take a pan, heat oil
Add mustard seeds, once start crackling add curry leave, red chilies, both the dal and hing.
Stir well for 2-3 mins.
Add grated ginger and after a min add sliced onions and green chili.
Mix well all the ingredients.
Lower the flame, add mashed potatoes and all the spices. Switch off the gas and mix well.
For Rava Onion Masala Dosa
Take a non stick pan.
Grease it with oil.
Add the rava batter on the pan.
Do not fill the holes.
Add 1 tsp oil and let it cook on medium high flame.
Cook till it gets crips.
Now add the masala in the center and press a little.
Cook further for 2-3 mins.
Fold the dosa.
For Serving
Serve Dosa with chutney and sambar. Refer to our south indian section for their recipes.
