Rajma Masala

(Serves 6)



Ingredients


  1. 2 cups Rajma/ Kidney Beans (overnight soaked)

  2. 6-7 tomatoes roughly chopped

  3. 2-3 green chilies roughly chopped

  4. 1 tbsp grated ginger

  5. Salt to taste

  6. 1 tsp red chili powder

  7. 1 tsp coriander powder

  8. 1 tsp dry mango powder

  9. 1 tsp garam masala

  10. 1 tbsp mustard oil/ olive oil


Procedure






  1. Take a pressure cooker and add overnight soaked rajma, 1 tsp salt and give 2-3 whistles.

  2. Take a pan and heat oil.

  3. Add ginger and cook for 1-2 mins on medium low flame.

  4. Grind tomatoes and green chilies together in smooth paste.

  5. Add this paste in kadai and cook till it changes color.

  6. Add spices and cook for 5 mins.

  7. Add this in boiled Rajma and cook for 10-15 mins.

  8. If Rajma are not boiled in first go, add the cooked tomato paste, cover it with lid and let 1-2 whistles come.


For Serving

If in hurry and guests are coming and u haven’t soaked Rajma. No worries!!

Add Rajma in cooker after wash and boil it for 10-15 mins and switch off the flame.

After 10 mins cover with lid and give 3-4 whistles and continue with the procedure
