(Serves 4-5)
Ingredients for Kadhi
1 onion finely sliced
1 cup peas
7-8 garlic cloves finely chopped
500gm curd (sour)
2-3 tb spoon besan
Salt to taste
1/2-1 tea spoon red chili powder
1 tea spoon turmeric
1/2-1 tea spoon dry mango powder
1/2-1 tea spoon coriander powder
Ingredients for Tadka
1 tb spoon mustard oil
1/2-1 tea spoon sarso
1/2 tea spoon methi dana
1/2 tea spoon hing
1 tea spoon grated ginger
5-6 red chilli
9-10 curry leave
Salt to taste
1/2 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 tea spoon dry mango powder
1 tea spoon coriander powder
PROCEDURE
For Kadhi
Take a mixing bowl.
Add curd and besan.
Add 1 cup of water.
Add spices and whisk well the ingredients, so that no lumps are to be found.
Take pressure cooker, add ghee.
Add garlic and sauté for a min.
Add onions and cook till it changes color.
Add kadhi batter and 1-2 cups of water cook well for 15-20 mins on low medium flame.
Add 1 cup of water, as kadhi batter will get thick and cook on low flame.
Add peas and mix it well.
Let it cook on low flame for further 15-20 mins.
For Tadka
Take a pan and heat oil.
Add mustard seeds, once crackling sounds comes, add curry leaves, ginger, red chilies, methi (fenugreek) seeds and sauté well for 2-3 mins. Add all the spices and toss well for 1min.
Add tadka in the kadhi. Simmer the cooker in low flame for 15-20 mins.
For Serving
You can again take mustard oil (1/2 tea spoon) and add mustard seeds and 1-2 red chili for garnishing and serve hot with Rice.. Enjoy!!
