Masala Kale Chane


Ingredients


  1. 2.5 cups Black chickpeas (overnight soaked)

  2. 6-7 tomatoes roughly chopped

  3. 2-3 green chilies roughly chopped

  4. 1 tbsp grated ginger

  5. Salt to taste

  6. 1 tsp red chili powder

  7. 1 tsp coriander powder

  8. 1 tsp dry mango powder

  9. 1 tsp garam masala

  10. 1 tbsp mustard oil/ olive oil


Procedure

  1. Take a pressure cooker and add overnight soaked black chane,1 tsp salt and give 2-3 whistles.

  2. Take a pan and heat oil

  3. Add ginger and cook for 1-2 mins on medium low flame

  4. Grind tomatoes and green chilies together in smooth paste

  5. Add this paste in kadai and cook till it changes color

  6. Add spices and cook for 5 mins

  7. Add this in boiled chane and cook for 10-15 mins

  8. If black chane are not boiled in first go, cover it with lid and let 1-2 whistles come



For Serving

Garnish it with garam masala/ fresh coriander/ kasuri methi and serve with rice

If in hurry and guests are coming and u haven’t soaked black chane. No worries!!

Add chane in cooker after wash and let it boil for 5 mins and switch off the flame.

After 10 mins cover with lid and give 3-4 whistles and continue with the procedure
