Makhane Walli Kheer

(Serves 5)




Ingredients


  1. 2 liters milk

  2. 1 big bowl/plate of makhane ( cut in halves )

  3. 1/2 cup sugar ( it can vary as per taste )

  4. 15-20 almonds ( chopped )

  5. 9-10 pistachio ( chopped )

  6. 4-5 saffron

  7. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

  1. Boil milk in heavy pan.

  2. Lower the flame and add makhane.

  3. Stir well on low flame.

  4. Add saffron and mix well.

  5. Add dry fruits ( some of it, rest leave for garnishing ) and mix well.

  6. Add cardamom powder and mix well.

  7. Cook on low flame for 10-15 mins.

  8. Add sugar and stir well.

  9. Keep stiring on low flame, so that it doesn’t stick at bottom.

  10. Keep cooking and stirring till it is half in its quantity on low flame only.



For Serving

Garnish it with the dry fruits, serve hot or cold and enjoy..... Happy Janmashtami!!
