Khasta Gujiya

Ingredients


For Dough


  1. 500 gms maida / all purpose flour

  2. ½ cup refined oil

  3. Water as required


For Filling


  1. 500 gms khoya / mawa

  2. 2/3 cup sugar powder (as per taste)

  3. 25-30 cashews chopped

  4. 25-30 almonds chopped

  5. ½ tsp cardamom powder


Procedure





For Dough


  1. Take a mixing bowl.

  2. Add maida and oil, mix well.

  3. Add water in batches and knead it to dough.

  4. Cover it with damp cloth and keep it aside for 20-30 mins.


For Filling


  1. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan.

  2. Add khoya and mix well.

  3. Cook on low flame.

  4. Cook till it sticks the pan.

  5. Switch off the flame and cool it.

  6. Add sugar, nuts, cardamom powder and mix well.

  7. Your filling is ready.

  8. Also you can mix all the dry ingredients and your stuffing is ready


For Gujiya


  1. Make small balls of the dough.

  2. Roll it flat.

  3. Take gujiya maker, add flatted dough in the maker.

  4. Apply water on its edges.

  5. Add ½ tsp filling and press the gujiya maker.

  6. Take it out and seal the edges by pressing it.

  7. Repeat the step.


For Frying


  1. Heat oil in a pan for frying.

  2. Add gujiya and cook it on low medium flame.

  3. Cook till golden brown in color.


For Air Fryer


  1. Pre heat the air fryer at 180 degrees for 5 mins.

  2. Add the stuffed gujiya in the basket.

  3. Set the air fryer for 10 mins.

  4. Check it in between.


For Serving

Serve Gujiya and enjoy the festival!!
