Khandvi Balls



Ingredients


For Khandavi Balls

  1. 1 cup besan

  2. 1/3 sour curd

  3. 2.25 cup water

  4. Salt to taste

  5. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  6. Pinch of hing

  7. 1 tsp grated ginger

  8. 1-2 green chilies finely chopped

  9. Grated coconut

  10. Fresh coriander

For Tadka

  1. 1 tbsp mustard seeds

  2. 7-8 curry leaves

  3. 4-5 green chilies sliced in half


Procedure

  1. Take a big mixing bowl

  2. Add besan, spices, ginger and green chilies

  3. Add water to the curd and mix well

  4. Add that plus additional water in the batter and mix well

  5. No lumps should be there

  6. Take a kadai and add the batter cook on low flame

  7. Stir it continuously, there should be no lumps

  8. Stir till it thickens for 15-20 mins on low flame

  9. To check, take a plate and put it upside down

  10. Apply oil and add a tbsp of batter and spread it, if it rolls your khandavi mix is ready

  11. Make small balls and keep it aisde.


For Tadka

  1. Heat oil in a pan

  2. Add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle

  3. Add curry leaves and green chilies and sauté well for a min


For Serving

  1. Add the tadka on Khandvai balls

  2. Garnish it with grated coconut and coriander

  3. Serve it with imli chutney and enjoy
