Ghiya ka Bharta

(Serves 2-3)





Ingredients


  1. 1 Bottle gourd

  2. 1 big onion finely chopped

  3. 3-4 tomatoes finely chopped

  4. Salt to taste

  5. 1 tsp red chili powder

  6. 1 tsp dry mango powder

  7. 1 tsp coriander powder

  8. 1-2 tbsp mustard oil

  9. 1/2 cup water




Procedure





  1. Take a mesh wire and roast the bottle gourd.

  2. Let it cool and peel the skin.

  3. Either grate it or chop it finely.

  4. Heat oil in a pan.

  5. Add onions and toss it for a min or two.

  6. Let it cook, till it changes color.

  7. Add tomatoes and mix well.

  8. Let it cook till soft and mushy.

  9. Add spices and mix well.

  10. Cook further for 4-5 mins on low flame.

  11. Add water and mix well.

  12. Add bottle gourd and mix well.

  13. Cover it with the lid and cook for 10-15 mins on low flame.



For Serving

Garnish your Ghiya ka Bharta with coriander leaves and enjoy with Roti and Curd..
