Dal Makhni




Ingredients


  1. 1 cup kali sabut dal ( whole black lentil)

  2. 1/2 cup red kidney beans

  3. 4-5 tomatoes grinded

  4. 2-3 green chillies

  5. 1 tb spoon ghee

  6. 1 tb spoon grated ginger

  7. Salt to taste

  8. 1 tea spoon asafetida (hing)

  9. 1 tea spoon (cuming seeds) jeera

  10. 1-2 tb spoon dry pomegranate seeds

  11. 1 tea spoon red chilli

  12. 1-2 tea spoon amchur

  13. 1-2 tea spoon dhaniya powder

  14. 1/2 cup cream


Procedure


  1. Wash dal and rajma (kidney beans) together

  2. Add dal and rajma in pressure cooker

  3. Add tomato paste and 1 tea spoon salt

  4. Cover it with lid and let 3-4 whistles come

  5. Let it cool, open the lid and add tadka, stir well

  6. Simmer on low heat for long time


For Tadka


  1. Add ghee in the pan, once hot add jeera

  2. Add grated ginger and asafetida

  3. Add spices and stir well for a minute
