Chilly Gobi

(Serves 4)




Ingredients


For Gobi (Cauliflower)


  1. 1.5 cauliflower (in small florets)

  2. 4 tbsp all purpose flour

  3. 4 tbsp corn flour

  4. 1 tsp salt

  5. 1 tsp red chili powder

  6. 1 tbsp soya sauce

  7. 1 tbsp green chili sauce

  8. 1 tbsp tomato sauce

  9. 1/2 cup Water

  10. Oil for deep frying


For Chilly Gobi

  1. 1 big onion finely chopped (optional, I have not used onions)

  2. 1 capsicum finely chopped

  3. 4-5 green chilies finely chopped

  4. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste (optional, I have not used that)

  5. 1 tbsp olive oil

  6. 1 tsp black salt

  7. 1 tsp pepper

  8. 1 tbsp tomato sauce

  9. 1 tbsp green chili sauce

  10. 1-2 tbsp vinegar

  11. Seasoning (optional)

  12. 1 tbsp soya sauce (optional)


Procedure




For Blanching Gobi


  1. Take a saucepan, add 2 cups water.

  2. Add 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp sugar.

  3. Bring it to boil.

  4. Add gobi florets and bring a boil or two.

  5. Drain out the water and keep it aisde

For Batter

  1. Take a mixing bowl add all purpose flour and corn flour

  2. Add spices and sauces, mix well

  3. Add water as required and whisk well


For Frying Gobi

  1. Dip gobi florets in the batter and deep fry on medium flame

  2. Take out the florets and put it on the tissue paper and keep it aside.

  3. When about to serve you can air fry it for 5-7 mins to get crisp texture of gobi.


For Chilly Gobi


  1. Hot oil in a pan

  2. Add ginger and garlic paste (optional) and green chili and stir fry for a min

  3. Add onions and sauté well for 3-4 mins (optional).

  4. Add capsicum and mix well.

  5. Cook it for 3-4 mins

  6. Add salt, pepper, and sauces and mix well

  7. Add fried gobi and mix well for a min or two


For Serving

Garnish the Chilly Gobi with spring onions or seasoning or white sesame seeds And Serve hot with fried rice or noddles. Try out our Chinese section for more recipes.
