Chili Lotus Stem

(Serves 2-3)





Ingredients


For Lotus Stem


  1. 4 tbsp corn flour m (sliced)

  2. Corn flour(optional)

  3. 1 tsp salt

  4. 1 bottle cold water

  5. 2-3 cups Water

  6. Oil for deep frying (optional)


For Chili Lotus Stem

  1. 1 onion finely chopped

  2. 1 spring onion chopped

  3. 1/2 capsicum finely chopped

  4. 2-3 green chilies finely chopped

  5. 7-8 garlic cloves finely chopped

  6. 1 tbsp olive oil

  7. Salt to taste

  8. 1 tsp red chili flakes

  9. 1 tsp mixed herbs

  10. 1-2 tbsp tomato sauce

  11. 1-2 tbsp green chilli sauce

  12. 1-2 tbsp vinegar

  13. 1 tbsp soya sauce (optional)


Procedure





For Lotus Stem

  1. Take a bowl add sliced lotus stem and 1 bottle cold water.

  2. Keep it aside for 15-20 mins.

  3. Drain the water and keep it aside.

  4. Take a saucepan, add water.

  5. Add salt and bring a nice boil.

  6. Add the lotus stem and give it a stir.

  7. Boil it nicely for 10-15 mins on high flame.

  8. Check with spoon or fork, the lotus stem is cooked or not.

  9. If yes, drain the water and keep it aside.

  10. Now pre heat the Air fryer at 180 degrees for 5-7 mins.

  11. Add blanced lotus stem and brush some oil.

  12. (Now you can even sprinkle corn flour on it and then add it to air fryer or you can deep fry it.)

  13. Set the fryer for 10 mins.

  14. Keep shaking in between and your lotus stem is ready..


For Chili Lotus Stem


  1. Heat oil in a pan.

  2. Add garlic and green chilies ,stir fry for a min..

  3. Add onions (both) and sauté well for 3-4 mins.

  4. Add capsicum and mix well.

  5. Cook it for 3-4 mins on medium high flame.

  6. Add air fried/fried Lotus stem and mix well.

  7. Cook for 3-4 mins.

  8. Add sauces, salt and seasonings, mix well.

  9. Add some spring onions and mix well.

  10. Cover it for 5 mins on high medium flame.

For Serving


Garnish the chili Lotus Stem with spring onions or seasoning or white sesame And Serve hot with fried rice or noddles. Enjoy!!
