Cheese Bread Pakoda

(Serves 4)




Ingredients



For Batter

  1. 1 cup besan (chickpea flour)

  2. Salt to taste

  3. 1 tsp red chili powder

  4. 1 tsp coriander powder

  5. 1 tsp dry mango powder

  6. 1 tsp ajwain

  7. Pinch of asafetida

  8. 1 cup water or as required for thick consistency


Other


  1. Bread

  2. Cheese slice

  3. Oil for deep frying


Procedure




For Batter


  1. Take a mixing bowl.

  2. Add all the ingredients (batter) except water.

  3. Mix well.

  4. Add water in batches and make a smooth paste and keep it aside.


For Cheese Bread Pakoda


  1. Heat oil for frying.

  2. Take 2 slices of bread.

  3. Add cheese slice on one bread and cover it with other.

  4. Cut it in 4 equal parts.

  5. Dip the bread in the besan batter and deep fry it.

  6. Repeat the above step.

  7. Fry on medium high flame, till golden brown or crisp.


For Serving

Serve hot Cheese Bread Pakoda with tomato sauce / coriander chutney and tea. Enjoy!!
