Amritsari Wadiya Chawal

(Serves 2)




Ingredients


  1. 1 cup rice ( washed )

  2. 1/2 cup channa dal ( soaked in water )

  3. 1-2 wadiya (crushed and roasted)

  4. 1 onion sliced

  5. 1 tsp cumin

  6. Salt to taste

  7. 1 tsp red chili powder

  8. 1 tbsp ghee


Procedure






  1. Heat ghee in pressure cooker and add cumin, toss for a min.

  2. Add onions and cook till it changes color.

  3. Add wadiya and cook for 5 mins on low flame.

  4. Add soaked channa dal and mix well.

  5. Add spices and mix well.

  6. Add rice and double water as rice, stir well

  7. Cover it with lid

  8. After a whistle, lower the flame for 2-3 mins and switch off the flame



For Serving

Garnish it with fresh coriander or ghee and serve hot with curd.
